Information about Occupational Therapy with a neurodivergent OT
Welcome!
Alex is proud to have founded (to the best of our knowledge) the UK’s first of its kind, multiply neurodivergent-led, neuroaffirming occupational therapy service dedicated solely to supporting neurodivergent adults. Rooted in lived experience and delivered online, this service is designed by and for neurodivergent people.

Examples of what I can support you with
Free discovery call:
A conversation for us to introduce ourselves, discuss what you're looking for and consider whether we would be a good match to work together.
Please note that my waiting list for longer-term one-to-one OT sessions is currently closed.. If you'd like to join my mailing list and be the first to know when the waiting list reopens and for details of other support options, please Click here
Initial Assessment (all clients who have regular support must have an initial assessment first):
We will discuss your goals for our sessions, past experiences, and current situation in more detail.
Sensory support and Exploration:
This exploration can help us gain a better understanding of your sensory needs, enabling you to become a more effective self-advocate and to design strategies that help you meet daily sensory needs and optimise your environment. I can provide a summary report for the suggestions on request. Together we can explore your sensory needs and we can work collaboratively to create a plan and look for equipment that suits you.
*Reports & recommendations at additional cost. I do not provide 'sensory integration therapy' due to ideas around reducing sensitivity. I opt for approaches based on neuroaffirming sensory strategies and tools.
Fatigue support:
We can explore support strategies and create plans to help you manage your energy levels.
University and workplace reasonable adjustments:
Personalised support in identifying your strengths and challenges and recommend reasonable adjustments to your workplace or educational provider.
I can also provide you with a professional PDF report or meet with managers/HR. On request, I may also be able to provide a completed AHP health and work report used to supplement a GP fit-to-work form.
*These services (and any others) can be self-funded or funded by your employer.
Emotional regulation, interoception, meltdowns and shutdown:
We can explore your experiences and develop strategies for emotional regulation that work best for you. We can build your interoception and I'll help you to put strategies on paper in a visual plan, and then into practice.
Executive function support (e.g planning, organising, memory):
We can explore your executive functioning and develop strategies to support you. This might include helping to put them into practice and providing accountability through weekly mentoring/body-doubling sessions to check in with your progress and create routines.
Guided neurotype screening:
Are you wondering if you might be neurodivergent? With long waiting lists, assessments, and high private costs, it can be challenging to know where to start. My screening service offers a thorough exploration to determine if you may meet the criteria for Autism, ADHD, or Dyspraxia using standardised tools, the DSM criteria and an initla OT assessment if you'd like one. While this doesn’t replace a formal diagnosis, it can provide valuable insights and validation. We can also provide letter documentation to support your request for a referral to your GP for further assessment, along with reports that highlight patterns observed during the screening to assist with workplace or university adjustments. Wellbeing check-ins:
Check-ins to support you with putting in your strategies into practice. Some clients like to simply use this space as a place to vent to someone who truly understands what it is like to be neurodivergent, others like to have them structured around weekly goals and checking in and adjusting them each week. These sessions are often more frequent but 10/25 mins, but we can do whatever frequency and length works for you.
Body doubling:
I can also help with virtual body doubling, scheduling, and prioritisation. A body double is someone who works alongside you, either in person or through video chat.
Executive Functioning, accountability calls
I can also help by doing either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly calls to check in and review how things have gone, what you have coming up soon and create a goal list or action plan.
Access to work forms (and other similar forms) & assessment forms:
I can support you with the 'access to work' application. It can be challenging to fill out forms that say things like "how do your conditions affect you?", I can support you to fill in these sections with ease. We can also discuss what kind of support might be helpful to request and even help you do things like choosing a support worker/PA. I can also support with filling out documents that are part of your diagnostic assessment process.
Access to work occupational therapy-based coaching / mentoring/ support work:
You can apply for a government grant to help fund support strategy coaching. Once this is approved they will tell you how many sessions they will fund and at what price. I use occupational therapy to provide this support- it usually involves figuring out what tasks you do at work, any barriers and trialling different strategies. Usually, this also involves sensory, energy and masking-related discussions too.
Exploring your neurotype:
I can support you to explore your challenges and strengths as part of your neurotype. I can offer validating conversations and answer any questions you might have, or just providing a space to process your diagnosis/self-identification with someone who "gets it".
This isn't an exhaustive list of services. Do get in touch to enquire about how I could support you! Other sessions have included things like support with making cooking easier with pain, doing crafts while discussing any of the above, exploring shame and imposter syndrome relating to being disabled, practicing advocating for your needs.
I'll be there to support you every step of the way.
